With more than 20 years of application experience in wastewater tertiary processes, cloth media filtration from Aqua-Aerobic Systems has demonstrated the ability to accommodate high solids loading capacity, large hydraulic throughput, a small footprint, and exceptional effluent quality in more than 1,500 installations. Joining the family of proven Aqua-Aerobic cloth media filters is the new AquaPrime cloth media filtration system, designed as an economical and efficient solution for the treatment of primary wastewater and wet weather applications.
The AquaPrime system utilizes a disk configuration and the exclusive OptiFiber® cloth filtration media to effectively filter screened, de-gritted, raw municipal sewage. This proven technology easily handles significantly higher solids loading rates compared to secondary clarified effluent (by a factor of 3 to 5 times) with the added ability to sustain a low TSS concentration, making it an ideal solution for both wet weather treatment and primary treatment in lieu of conventional sedimentation systems.
The AquaPrime system efficiently operates in less than 10% of a footprint compared to conventional primary settling basins and offers the added advantage of improving gas production (energy harvesting) in the anaerobic digestion system due to significant reduction in organics as measured by BOD5 and COD values. The AquaPrime cloth media filtration system produces consistent, high quality effluent under variable influent conditions that are typical in both primary treatment and wet weather applications.
