Aqua TruDense™
True Densified Sequencing Batch Reactor Technology
The Aqua TruDense™ system is a Densified Sludge Treatment technology that combines all the features and benefits of a true batch SBR system, with the intensification of densified sludge. It features faster settling with increased MLSS concentrations, allowing for enhanced treatment in smaller footprint compared to activated flocculent sludge.

Features & Specifications
- Faster and reliable settling allows for additional treatment time compared to Activated Sludge
- Typical SVI 60 – 80 mL/g allows for fast settling of 5,500 – 6,000 mg/l MLSS
- True-batch system featuring a time-based control strategy provides ultimate treatment flexibility
- Intensified treatment allows for enhanced BioP removal and increased nitrification capacity
- Nutrient removal in a single tank compared to multi-stage BNR which need selector, anoxic, and aerobic basins
- No sludge recirculation, no physical selection devices (i.e. hydrocyclones), no carriers (i.e. plastic, magnetite, etc), and no primary or secondary clarifiers to build and maintain
- Uniform and controlled innovative selective wasting. Efficient surface wasting of lighter particles
- All accessible or retrievable equipment (including diffusers) for ease of maintenance
Benefits
- Allows for additional treatment capacity in the same footprint as conventional activated sludge systems:
- 55 – 65% additional flow and loading compared to conventional activated sludge systems
- 20 – 25% additional flow and loading compared to batch activated sludge systems
- True batch in combination with faster settling sludge, allows for the system to be less susceptible to “wash out” of mixed liquor during storm flow events
- Increased ability to control process with control of D.O. level, mixing, settling and clarification in the same basin.
- Easily modify system to adapt to more strict effluent requirements (i.e. Modify cycle structure based on incoming flows and loading variation)
- Separation of aeration and mixing for enhanced control of environment, as well as power savings
