Terry Reid, P.E. Promoted to Vice President, Research & Development

December 16, 2025 – Loves Park, IL  I am pleased to announce the promotion of Terry Reid, P.E. to Vice President, Research & Development recognizing his distinguished 35-year career and outstanding contributions to innovation in water and wastewater treatment.

Terry’s most recent role as Director of Research & Development has been instrumental in guiding the company’s long-term R&D vision, expanding its intellectual property portfolio, and advancing emerging technologies from concept to full-scale market introduction.

Terry joined Aqua-Aerobic Systems in 1989 as a Process Engineer and has since advanced through numerous technical and leadership roles, consistently shaping the company’s product development strategy and strengthening its position as a leader in advanced treatment technologies.

Throughout his career, Terry has demonstrated exceptional leadership in product innovation, including aeration, biological treatment, filtration, membrane systems, and integrated controls. He has played a central role in developing design standards across core product lines, as well as leading the operation of the company’s full-scale 0.23 MGD AquaNereda® Aerobic Granular Sludge Demonstration Facility and the 5,000 sq. ft. Research & Technology Center at Four Rivers Sanitation Authority, Rockford, IL.

His earlier tenure as Product Manager for Biological Processes & Membranes included the conception and commercialization of several innovative biological systems, resulting in multiple issued patents and industry recognition. Terry’s proven ability to identify and cultivate emerging trends has led to significant growth opportunities across municipal and industrial markets.

An accomplished researcher and collaborator, Terry has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed papers, presented at major international conferences, and served as a key contributor to award-winning technology initiatives, including the Water Environment Federation’s Innovative Technology Award for the IntelliPro® Process and Monitoring System.
